Legislative Transparency

When elected I will introduce legislation that would require a ten day public comment period before any bill can be taken to the floor for a vote. This time would allow the citizens of our Commonwealth to give feedback on proposed legislation. If this law was in effect before the infamous pay raise debacle it is likely that opposition would have prevented a vote.

Fiscal Responsibility

When elected I will introduce legislation that would provide real property tax relief. Instead of raising other taxes to accomplish this task, our state needs to close the business tax loopholes that allow out of state and offshore companies to shirk their financial responsibility to our Commonwealth. This move alone would add $500 million to our treasury. In addition we need to control spending increases which have doubled inflation over the past two years. All savings and extra business tax receipts would be returned to the citizens of our Commonwealth.

Preventative Health Care

When elected I will introduce a law that would guarantee that any Pennsylvania citizen who wants a Flu shot would have one available to him or her. Considering that 70 million doses are manufactured in our state, there is no reason that they should not be available. Preventive medicine is by far more economical than treating disease. Talk of universal health care is premature if we can not get everyone a Flu shot who wants one.

Intelligent Growth

When elected I will introduce legislation that mandates all municipalities with fewer than 100,000 citizens to work with their neighboring municipalities if they wish to develop 100,000+ square feet of commercial space or 100+ units of residential properties. Too often one municipality exports traffic and pollution to its neighbors without regards for the consequences.

Term Limits

When elected I will introduce legislation that limits the terms of our legislative officials; 5 two year terms for State Representatives and 3 four year terms for State Senators. This action will limit people from becoming career politicians and shield them from the pervasive culture of corruption in Harrisburg that is dominated by political insiders.

If I am unable to pass this legislation I will abide by the term limits listed above.
