On The Issues...

Real Tax Reform
I will fight any new tax or an increase in any existing tax. I am an M.B.A. who is fiscally responsible and able to analyze the costs and benefits of our Commonwealth's spending. To achieve real property tax relief, we need to cut the fat out of the State Budget instead of increasing the income tax and increasing and extending the sales tax. Those ideas are nothing more than taking money out of your left pocket to put it into your right pocket.

Disaster Preparedness
We need to outfit and train our first responders better so that they are prepared for a natural or a man-made disaster. Katrina taught us that the Federal Government is not coming to our rescue when we need it, so the responsibility to be prepared falls to our Commonwealth. Also the state needs to stockpile anti-virals like Tami-Flu in case of a pandemic like the Bird Flu. Additionally, any citizen who wants a Flu shot should be able to get one, especially since the vaccine is manufactured in Swiftwater , PA.

Intelligent Growth
I will encourage the study of all new growth in order to more intelligently use our resources. I believe that large developments must be planned in an organized manner. Too often townships export traffic and pollution to their neighbors. I believe that we can make our communities better without having too much governmental intrusion. Traffic, polluted wells, and storm water running off impervious surfaces should not be the inevitable outcome of development. Air, water, light, and noise pollution should be considered when large developments are in the planning stage as should growth's effect on our schools' capacities.
